A fire spread to two Tacoma houses early Tuesday, destroying one and severely damaging the second.

Firefighters responded just before 3 a.m. to the blaze near North 26th and North 11th streets and found flames coming from one home and neighbors fleeing their home next door.

No one was injured.

Officials said the house that initially caught fire was under renovation and nobody was inside. That home was declared a total loss.

Damages on the second home were not immediately known, but firefighters said the house cannot be lived in.

A cause has not been determined.

This is a developing story. More information will be posted when it is available.
