Erik Stevenson, Timberline High School’s star shooting guard, paced the Blazers to their second win in their home opener Tuesday night.
The Wichita State signee scored a game-high 25 points — including three 3-pointers — to lift Timberline past perennial Class 2A powerhouse Mark Morris in Lacey.
“We shot the ball pretty well in the first half — came out on fire,” Stevenson said.
Timberline built an early lead on the Monarchs on Tuesday night and never lost it. Veteran point guard Eli Morton added 19 points for the Blazers, while Terran Melad had 11, including eight in the first quarter that helped the Blazers quickly pull away.
