Heidi Kinne wants to bring something sweet to downtown Puyallup.

She plans to open an ice cream shop at 105 Second Street SW during the first weekend of April. There used to be a barbershop in the space.

Lick Homemade Ice Cream will use locally sourced ingredients, Kinne said. The shop will have innovative and traditional ice cream flavors such as blueberry cheesecake, strawberry crunch and mint chocolate chip.

A single scoop of ice cream will cost $5.50 and a double scoop will cost $8.

Milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches and pup cups will also be available. In the summer the shop will offer Red Bull refreshers and floats.

Kinne said ice cream brings a lot of fun memories with family. Her family has been living in Puyallup for about 24 years. She and her husband felt that the community was missing a scoop shop, she said.

“I just wanted to bring that to our community,” she said. “I love Puyallup.”
